Retirement
Well, the time has come to seriously make a move for retirement. So many things are happening in life.
Financially, I think I have arrived at a stage when I can rightly say that I am a bit comfortable . This is from completion of 25 years of service with Atomic Energy of Canada (which will result in adequate pension income), retiring all debts and to have all material things (all paid for fully) that I think I need in life.
Both daughter (Nina) and son (Sunir) are well educated and are on their own for sometime. Nina is married to her love, Sunjay Mistry and they have moved closer to our area.
The greatest news (that we got recently about the continuity of our gene pool) have changed perspective on life completely and my retirement will be resonated by little “pitter patter” soon. Our thanks are to God Almighty for this coming gift and joy.
The present step for the retirement came at a stage in life when there is no anxiety or trepidation in my heart. The retirement time will allow to enjoy the family more than ever, know the natural surroundings and the community and be able to participate ever more in social work. I may need to get familiar with myriad of electronics and become seamless and comfortable using the modern gadgets.
Here is the copy of letter I submitted to-day to my employer for my retirement. (edited on 2007 January 15).
