Coronavirus – my anguish – yes, we shall overcome

The following article I wrote to express my feelings during lockdown ( remaining isolated at home) during the Coronavirus pandemic. The article was circulated to family, friends and colleagues via the social media.

Article:

Coronavirus – my anguish – yes, we shall overcome

Oh ! how I look forward to normal life

I am tired of watching repeat shows on TV

I am tired of being on-line hours

I am tired of playing board games

I want to go  for shopping

I love going to stores and buy something

I like buying for my grandchildren

I need a haircut – my head is now straggly

I want to fill my car with gas

I  long for hugging my grandchildren

I want to  “shoot the breeze ”  with my friends

I   miss playing bridge card game with my club

This coronavirus is upsetting my normal life

Covid-19  is moving fast to disturb the citizens

Oh !  how  I look forward to normal life

Look after yourself to look after your neighbors

Be patient and keep safe so others can feel safe

It’s a bizarre  restricted way to live

However everything is not locked down

Sunrise is always there giving rays of hope

Hope is not locked down

Service and Health workers are there

My Government is  active to help

My Guardian Angel  is always caring

Oh !  how  I look forward to normal life

Prevention is better than cure

Cherish what we have

Home is better than hospital

These dark  days will pass

We will have our normal life soon

patience and solidarity will win the war

Hope  springs  eternal   – always

Yes, we shall overcome

Oh !  how  I look forward to normal life.
