I wrote a Letter to Editor titled Our rough/painful week . This I have sent to North Renfrew Times (NRT) on Sunday 26 April 2020 for publication in their Letter to Editor section. To publish or not to publish is their prerogative.

Our rough/painful week

We Canadians had a rough  painful week .

The shooting in Nova Scotia was a stab in our hearts.

Our hearts and minds  are with the victims, their families and friends.

We  offer our  heartfelt prayers  and condolences.

The mass shooting In Nova Scotia , with at least 23 dead , has  overshadowed  momentarily the  pain from the coronavirus (Covid-19).

Further ,  this incident has ignited the gun control debate all across the country.

Unfortunately,  I am somewhat  ignorant about the existing gun laws  in Canada  – though I am fairly aware of  the opinions in USA about the issue – it being debated there often..

If anyone has issues with gun laws  in Canada – this is the time to raise this issue with the politicians of the country  and vehemently with some substantive background.    

All politicians  – from our Municipality to Provincial to the Federal – should be approached .

I am sure that most of us believe that ” violence against innocent people is abhorrent “.
