Dear Aunt Ruth/Grandma
This is a poem written for our Grandma/Aunt Ruth to celebrate her 91st birthday in 2005. She is Mrs. Ruth (Gordon) Mckerracher; who came into our lives during 1974 when we migrated to Canada and made residence in Niagara Falls, Ontario. She became a family member and took upon herself to fill the loving Grandma position when Nina was born in 1974 and when Sunir arrived in 1979.
Our dear Aunt Ruth Our Grandma
Yonder and over, way back in 1974
Your love and charm won us over
The sound & fury of Niagara Falls
Bubbled over into frequent calls
Like fish taken to water
You took us into your bosom
Enchanted were Nina & Sunir
What hugs, kisses and care!
You are in our hearts and thoughts
The spirit emboldened
and sparkled
Our hunger for family fulfilled
Our Grandma in Kenya well comforted
We wish you the best
for the years to come Looking forward to your
wisdom and warmth
Happy Birthday this August 2005
Many more to come to celebrate a century
Nina, Sunjay, Sunir,
Jackie & Pravin Shah
Forever enchanted & emboldened by love
